Great to meet you!

Dr. Kelly Spence is a board-certified psychiatrist dedicated to providing compassionate, evidence-based mental health care. She completed her medical education at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center and continued her postgraduate medical training at the University of Kansas Medical Center.

Dr. Spence brings extensive experience in the evaluation and treatment of a wide range of psychiatric conditions, including depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, ADHD, and other mood and behavioral health concerns. Her approach is collaborative and patient-centered, combining thoughtful medication management with an understanding of each patient's individual experiences, needs, and goals.

My approach to therapy

She believes that effective psychiatric care begins with listening. Dr. Spence strives to create a welcoming, judgment-free environment where patients feel heard, respected, and actively involved in decisions about their treatment. She makes individual treatment plans that take each patient’s history, goals, and medical comorbidity into consideration. She understands the whole body is part of psychiatric care.

What you can expect from me

Dr. Spence starts every patient relationship with exploring symptoms, history, medical history, and current stressors as well as past treatments. She then discusses possible diagnosis and treatment options. If needed, records are requested. Always coordination with medical providers is prioritized.
