Great to meet you!

I am a licensed clinical psychologist with a breadth of experience in the field for over a decade; I’ve worked with folks with developmental and intellectual disabilities, serious persistent mental illnesses, and the working well. I’ve worked across all settings: inpatient, outpatient, corrections, and a small private practice. I am comfortable working with late teens through adulthood and love working with D/deaf individuals!

My approach to therapy

I am a very curious person by nature! I use that curiosity to my advantage in therapy sessions. As opposed to judgement, curiosity allows me to see multiple perspectives and stay open to the work we are doing together. I have a healthy sense of humor, a flair for sarcasm, and a direct approach to treatment. I feel that therapy should be helpful, useful, and supportive. My style is to provide practical insight and tools to help you feel your best. I specialize in working with life transitions, depression, women’s issues, and am fluent in American Sign Language.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, it will be a “get-to-know-you” for the both of us. It is important that we establish goodness of fit between us. When you are comfortable with your provider, the work is able to be done knowing you are safe and with someone you trust. During that first session, I will be asking a lot of questions regarding your (excellent!) choice to begin therapy. I will be looking to ensure that this is the right level of care, that I can provide you the treatment and support you need, and will give you a treatment plan by the end of the first session. It is also an opportunity for you to ask questions of me and make sure you feel scheduling a second appointment is the right choice!
