Great to meet you!

Hello, my name is Kelsey Giddings, and I am a dedicated counselor committed to helping individuals navigate life's challenges and achieve personal growth. My approach to counseling is based on creating a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where clients feel heard, respected, and empowered.

I have experience working with individuals facing a variety of concerns, including anxiety, depression, stress, relationship difficulties, life transitions, grief, self-esteem issues, and personal development. I believe that every person has unique strengths and the capacity for positive change, and I strive to help clients recognize and build upon those strengths.

My counseling style is compassionate, collaborative, and client-centered. I work alongside clients to identify goals, develop effective coping strategies, and gain greater insight into their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. I value authenticity, empathy, and respect in the therapeutic relationship and believe that meaningful change occurs when clients feel supported and understood.

My goal is to help clients increase self-awareness, improve emotional well-being, strengthen relationships, and develop the skills needed to face challenges with confidence. I am honored to be part of each client's journey and look forward to supporting them as they work toward a healthier and more fulfilling life.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is collaborative, compassionate, and goal-oriented. I utilize both Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to help clients better understand their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors while developing practical skills to manage life's challenges.

Through CBT, I help clients identify unhelpful thought patterns and beliefs that may contribute to emotional distress or problematic behaviors. Together, we explore healthier ways of thinking and develop effective coping strategies that support positive change and improved well-being.

Through DBT, I assist clients in building skills related to mindfulness, emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness. These skills help clients navigate difficult emotions, manage stress, improve relationships, and respond to challenging situations in a balanced and healthy way.

I believe that every client has unique strengths and the ability to grow and heal. My role is to provide a supportive, nonjudgmental environment where clients feel safe exploring their experiences and working toward their personal goals. By combining evidence-based therapeutic techniques with empathy and respect, I strive to help clients build resilience, increase self-awareness, and create meaningful, lasting change in their lives.

What you can expect from me

What to Expect During Your First Counseling Session

Your first counseling session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another and begin building a comfortable, trusting therapeutic relationship. The session is designed to help me better understand your concerns, experiences, strengths, and goals for counseling.

During our first meeting, we will review important information about confidentiality, discuss the counseling process, and answer any questions you may have. I will ask about the reasons that brought you to counseling, your personal history, current challenges, relationships, and any other areas that may be relevant to your well-being.

The first session is also a chance for you to share what you hope to achieve through therapy. Together, we will begin identifying goals and discussing how counseling can support your needs. There is no pressure to share everything at once; you are encouraged to move at a pace that feels comfortable for you.

My goal is to provide a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where you feel heard and respected. By the end of the session, we will have a clearer understanding of your concerns and begin developing a plan for moving forward together.

Starting therapy is an important step, and I appreciate the trust you place in this process. I look forward to supporting you on your journey toward growth, healing, and positive change.
