Great to meet you!

My name is Kelsi Nau and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). I earned my Masters in Social Work from The University at Albany and my BSW from SUNY Brockport. I have been practicing as therapist for several years and have experience in providing therapy to individuals with mental health and/or substance use disorders at the outpatient level, as well as some experience at the inpatient level. The mental health conditions I provide therapy for tend to be related to: Depression, Anxiety, Trauma, Psychosis, Bipolar, and Borderline Personality Disorder. Along with these, I also feel confident in providing support around grief, stress, relationship conflict, self-esteem, anger management, and many more! I have experience providing individual therapy, as well as family therapy and group therapy. I consistently use therapy modalities of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Solution Focused Therapy.

My approach to therapy

I provide patient-centered therapy and will do what is needed to meet a client where they are at, with no judgement. Getting help and making changes is hard work and showing up and trying deserves to be celebrated! I utilize a compassionate and empathetic approach. I am able to support a client through active listening, as well as utilizing various treatment methods, as mentioned above, to address areas of concern.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, we will focus on creating an environment where we can build rapport and get to know one another. We can then be more comfortable identifying treatment goals and intended areas of focus and what will make you feel most confident moving forward with therapy!
