Great to meet you!

On the outside, you may look like you’re holding everything together, but internally you feel overwhelmed, anxious, emotionally exhausted, or stretched thin from constantly showing up for everyone else. You may be struggling with relationship stress, people-pleasing, family pressures, burnout, or feeling disconnected from yourself.

Many of my clients are used to being the “strong one” while silently carrying stress, anxiety, and emotional weight on their own. Therapy can be a space where you no longer have to do that alone.

I’m Kemesha Nickelson, a Licensed Professional Counselor providing virtual therapy for adolescents and adults across Georgia. I have over 15 years of experience working in mental health and helping individuals navigate life transitions, emotional challenges, anxiety, relationship difficulties, and stress-related concerns.

I believe therapy should feel like a space where you can be honest, emotionally safe, and still challenged toward growth. My goal is to help you better understand yourself, process difficult emotions, improve your coping skills, and create healthier patterns that support the life you want for yourself.

You do not have to have everything figured out before starting therapy.

My approach to therapy

My approach is warm, collaborative, empowering, and direct when needed. I work with clients who are ready to better understand their emotional patterns, improve boundaries, manage overwhelming thoughts, and develop healthier ways of coping with stress and relationships.

I use evidence-based approaches including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients build practical tools they can apply in everyday life. Together, we will focus on both insight and action so therapy feels meaningful, supportive, and productive.

I tailor therapy to each client because no two people experience life the same way. My goal is to help you move beyond survival mode and toward a life that feels more balanced, connected, and emotionally fulfilling.

What you can expect from me

You can expect therapy with me to feel supportive, honest, nonjudgmental, and engaging. I create a space where clients can show up authentically while also being encouraged toward meaningful change.

In our work together, we may focus on:

  • Managing anxiety and overthinking
  • Navigating relationship and family stress
  • Improving emotional regulation
  • Building self-worth and confidence
  • Setting healthier boundaries
  • Reducing burnout and emotional exhaustion
  • Learning practical coping skills for everyday life

I believe growth happens when insight is paired with action, and I’m committed to helping clients feel both supported and empowered throughout the process.
