Great to meet you!

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker serving adults of all ages. I work with both individuals and couples, and I specialize in trauma, addiction, spirituality, relationships, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, and other life challenges.

I utilize Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), trauma-focused psychotherapy, and other evidence-based, client-centered approaches that prioritize safety, stabilization, and measurable progress. ART is a brief, structured method that, when clinically appropriate, can quickly reduce distress. My work is tailored to each person’s unique needs and paced to support meaningful, lasting change.

My approach to therapy

After 58 years of life—including 25 years in the military—and personal experience with severe trauma, divorce, grief, addiction, and recovery, I bring both clinical expertise and lived experience to my work. I understand what it feels like to be stuck and hopeless. I persevered through that hopelessness with faith, friends, therapy, and determination. That journey shapes how I relate to clients: with empathy, realism, and a focus on measurable relief.

Style and therapeutic stance

  • Empathic, nonjudgmental, and strengths-based; I prioritize safety, trust, and clear boundaries.
  • Collaborative and goal-oriented; we set measurable goals together and track progress.
  • Through psychoeducation and skills-building, I teach practical coping tools—mindfulness, emotion regulation, grounding, distress tolerance, and communication skills—so you can manage symptoms between sessions.

Specializations & evidence-based methods

  • Trauma-focused psychotherapy: Phased approach emphasizing stabilization, processing, and skills generalization for PTSD and complex trauma.
  • Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART): Brief, image-based modality that can reduce distress associated with disturbing memories when clinically appropriate.
  • Couples, military, family, and Christian counseling: Integrating relational work and clients’ faith or spiritual resources when desired.
