Great to meet you!

My name is Ken Cirignano, and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in Massachusetts. I've been in the mental health field for 15+ years, and during that time, I've had the privilege of working in a variety of settings. My experience includes inpatient care, residential programs, care management, and multiple outpatient therapy environments. I've worked with a broad spectrum of people—from those focused on improving their existing well-being to those navigating complex psychiatric symptoms. While I've worked with diverse populations, I enjoy working most with adults.

My approach to therapy

My therapeutic approach is primarily psychodynamic, but I blend this with modalities like CBT and Motivational Interviewing to ensure our work is customized to your unique needs, never a rigid formula. You set the pace and choose what to focus on while we explore the conscious and unconscious patterns—often stemming from past experiences or societal "shoulds"—that might leave you feeling stuck. My role is to help you bring these dynamics into the open, understand what isn’t working, and create room for meaningful change. Ultimately, I bring a spirit of optimism and hope to every session, helping you feel lighter and freer so you can confidently move toward the life you truly want.

What you can expect from me

Starting therapy is a significant step, and our first session together is entirely about building safety and understanding. You don’t need to have everything figured out before we meet.

My primary goal in this initial session is to listen deeply and carefully to your story. I don’t believe in rushing to conclusions or jumping straight into "fix-it" mode. Instead, we will take the time to truly explore your situation at a pace that feels comfortable for you. You are the expert on your own life, so you will always guide the goals of our work. Together, we will gently figure out where you want to go, ensuring that you feel heard, respected, and never rushed from the very beginning.
