Great to meet you!

I am Kenneth Frontman, a licensed psychologist, who specializes in couples therapy and treating addictions and the recovery process. I have a Master's Degree in Clinical Psychology (Trinity University), Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology, APA Approved (Tech Tech) and completed a Post Doc in Chemical Addiction at the Dallas VA Medical Center. My Internship training was a the Dallas Child Guidance Center. I have 20 years experience working with young adults (Georgia Tech Counseling Center) and over 25 years in Private Practice. I also specialize in treating anxiety & mood disorders, as well as personality issues / maladaptive interpersonal patterns of behavior.

My approach to therapy

My practice is based on understanding the problems you face, as well as the overall person you are, as a whole. The bottom-line is a attaining an integrated understanding, with achievable goals using a sensible, practical, and goal-focused manner. I maintain innovative, culturally-sensitive methods, where we discuss rationale for all strategies. Your active, collaborative participation is encouraged. I practice as a 'Systems-Oriented' Therapist, using the principles and practices of Systems-Centered® Therapy. Progress in psychotherapy is evaluated weekly using MyOutcomes and the OQ System.

What you can expect from me

The initial consultation session, scheduled 90 minutes in length, is an opportunity to learn about you, your strengths, values, and interests. While you share who you are, we begin a collaborative process, where your goals are identified, as well as the type of difficulties you have faced. A clear framework of your problem and pathways for change bring to light new perspectives, options that prior may have been elusive. We outline steps to be taken in the change process, such that change is paced slowly and well regulated, managed to promote the type of development that is desired.
