Great to meet you!

I am a state licensed mental health therapist with a strong passion for supporting individuals through life’s challenges. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Virginia State University and my Master’s degree in Counseling with a concentration in Community Mental Health from Hampton University. I have also completed additional graduate coursework in clinical psychology. I proudly served in the U.S. Army Reserves for nine years, and I have been working in the mental health field since 2017.

I specialize in working with individuals experiencing depression, anxiety, and stress-related concerns. I understand how overwhelming life can feel at times, and I am committed to creating a supportive, nonjudgmental space where you can feel heard, understood, and empowered.

My therapeutic approach includes Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Person-Centered Therapy. I believe in meeting each client where they are and tailoring treatment to fit their unique needs. My goal is to help you build insight, develop practical coping skills, and gain the confidence needed to navigate life more effectively.

At this time, I offer telehealth services only, providing convenient and accessible care from the comfort and privacy of your own space.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is collaborative, supportive, and individualized. I believe therapy should feel like a safe space where you can be open, honest, and fully yourself without fear of judgment. I strive to build a strong therapeutic relationship grounded in trust, empathy, and respect.

I primarily utilize Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Person-Centered Therapy. Through REBT and CBT, I help clients identify and challenge unhelpful thought patterns, develop healthier perspectives, and build practical coping strategies to manage depression, anxiety, and stress. My person-centered foundation ensures that our work remains client-led, meaning I meet you where you are and tailor interventions to your unique experiences and goals.

I specialize in working with individuals experiencing depression, anxiety, and stress-related concerns. I focus on helping clients increase self-awareness, strengthen emotional regulation, build resilience, and develop tools they can apply in everyday life.

Overall, my style is warm yet direct. I will support you with compassion while also gently challenging you when necessary to promote growth. My goal is to empower you with insight, confidence, and practical skills that extend beyond our sessions together.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, you can expect a welcoming, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where you feel safe to share at your own pace. My priority is to get to know you — your concerns, your strengths, your experiences, and what led you to seek support at this time.

During this session, we will discuss your current challenges, relevant background information, and what you hope to gain from therapy. I will ask thoughtful questions to better understand your needs, but you are always in control of what you choose to share. This is also an opportunity for you to ask questions and determine whether I am a good fit for you.

Together, we will begin identifying initial goals and desired outcomes. I typically help clients clarify what meaningful change looks like for them, whether that involves managing anxiety, improving mood, reducing stress, strengthening coping skills, or improving overall emotional well-being.

You can expect collaboration, transparency, and encouragement. My goal is to ensure you leave the first session feeling heard, supported, and with a clearer sense of direction for our work together.
