I am a bilingual and first generation Honduran American Marriage and Family Therapist who is based in California, born and raised in Los Angeles area. I received my masters at Pepperdine University and have been practicing therapy for the past 6 years. Over the past couple of years I have specialized in working with young and older adults from 18-70 years dealing with depression, anxiety and past traumas such as sexual, physical and emotional abuse. As a Latina therapist, my goal in each session is for each client to feel supported, validated and safe; acknowledging that everyone has a unique story and experience.
As a Latina therapist working with clients over the past 6 years, one of my main focuses is creating an empathetic, safe and non-judgemental environment for each client. I strive to help clients reach their fullest potential through identifying core beliefs that negatively impact clients, increase healthier coping skills and explore each client's unique experience to address symptoms. As a therapist I like to utilize CBT and EMDr to process past traumas, core beliefs and increase a healthier sense of self.
In our first session together we will explore symptoms and current stressors that bring you into therapy to help formulate treatment goals. We will work collaboratively to address symptoms and increase healthier coping skills.
