Great to meet you!

My name is Keri Cortolano, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with more than 15 years of experience in the mental health field. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Sociology with a minor in Criminology from Kennesaw State University, where I also had the privilege of competing as a Division I softball player. I went on to receive my Master of Science in Community Counseling from North Georgia College and State University (now the University of North Georgia), and during that time, I served as an assistant coach for the collegiate softball team. My experiences as both an athlete and coach deeply shaped my understanding of resilience, perseverance, teamwork, and personal growth—qualities that continue to influence my work as a counselor.

My approach to therapy

I work with individuals navigating trauma, depression, anxiety, life transitions, low self-esteem, identity concerns, as well as sport performance challenges. My therapeutic approach integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Humanistic therapy, and Expressive Arts Therapy. I strive to create a space that is warm, approachable, creative, and grounded in authenticity—where humor is welcome and clients feel safe being themselves. I am an advocate for all people and firmly believe that everyone is valuable and worthy of support in creating the life they want, regardless of their circumstances.

What you can expect from me

Throughout my career, I have provided counseling, clinical assessments, and crisis intervention services to individuals, families, and groups in a variety of settings, including counseling offices, homes, schools, jails, and DFCS offices. Working with diverse populations across different environments has not only strengthened me as a clinician, but also as a person. I believe that our experiences—both positive and painful—shape who we are and how we move through our lives. Everyone faces challenges at some point, and I feel truly honored to walk alongside my clients during difficult seasons, offering compassion, support, and guidance to help foster healing, empowerment, and a sense of connectedness.
