Great to meet you!

Life can be so hard. It shouldn't be, but it is. Our culture produces symptoms of depression, anxiety, ADHD, addiction, etc. We weren't meant to live this way and to confront the constant stream of stressors we face on a daily basis. 40+ hour work weeks, struggling to make ends meet, supporting others while we struggle to support ourselves, unexpected life events, financial instability, always reaching and striving for the next benchmark, promotion, or grade. The list goes on and on and it often feels overwhelming and impossible. I believe that those systems are the problem, not you, and I want to help you navigate it better.

My approach to therapy

When we work together, you are the professional. You know your life the best. You know your perspectives and experiences, hopes and goals. I'm only here to help you succeed in the ways you hope for. You're the driver; I just help navigate and get you where you want to go. Sometimes it's scary, but we will go at your pace and comfort level all the way. I work from a whole-person perspective, exploring how historical experiences, present circumstances, beliefs and values, and mental and physical health contribute to the problems people are seeking resolution for. I am non-judgmental, inclusive, and open to creative approaches to therapy.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, we will look over completed assessments and paperwork and discuss, in your own terms, what is going on in your life that you are seeking therapy. Then we will discuss what you hope to get out of therapy and what goals we can develop and work toward together. I will also share with you what I am considering in terms of a diagnosis because I believe all clients should be a part of that conversation and be fully informed about their treatment.
