Are you just "going through the motions"? If you're a man feeling stuck in a rut, weighed down by stress, or quick to anger, I get it. If you're a veteran, you've faced challenges most people can't imagine. Maybe you can't turn off the hypervigilance. Maybe you feel like everyone around you is "soft" and doesn't understand. The transition home can be one of the hardest missions you'll face. I'm Kevin Ford, a licensed counselor in PA and NJ, and I provide practical, confidential therapy for men and veterans ready to make a change. My practice is focused on helping you build tools to manage your life, not just talk about it.
My approach is direct and person-centered - I meet you where you are. For men dealing with anxiety or work stress, we'll use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to challenge negative thought patterns. For veterans dealing with trauma, I use trauma-informed Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help you process difficult memories in a safe, gradual way. This isn't the VA - it's one on one, personalized care without the bureaucracy or long waitlists. My goal is to provide a safe and confidential space to address PTSD, combat trauma, moral injury, and the process of adjusting to civilian life. This is about finding your new mission; living well.
In our first session, we'll skip the fluff and get straight to what's going on. It's a confidential, no-judgment zone where we'll identify the main challenges you're facing. From there, we'll collaboratively set a few clear and achievable goals. You'll leave that first meeting with a sense of clarity and a concrete idea of how we'll work together to get you where you want to be.
