Great to meet you!

Hi, I'm Kevin! I know reaching out for help isn't always easy, especially when you've spent so much time trying to figure everything out on your own.

Maybe you're the person everyone counts on, but behind the scenes, you're overwhelmed, constantly overthinking, or feeling like nothing you do is ever quite good enough. Or maybe you've spent years trying to live up to everyone else's expectations, wondering when you'll finally get a chance to focus on yourself.

And if you've had to start over with different providers, I understand how difficult it can be to open up all over again. My hope is to build a lasting relationship where you feel genuinely heard, understood, and cared for.

I'm a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner providing telehealth care to adults throughout California. Before becoming a PMHNP, I spent about ten years working as a nurse, an experience that shaped how I connect with people and approach their care. I enjoy working with adults navigating ADHD, anxiety, panic attacks, depression, perfectionism, and the ways our past experiences can affect our lives today. I also have a special interest in supporting first-generation Asian Americans navigating cultural and family expectations, as well as providing LGBTQ+ affirming care.

I've learned firsthand how much it matters to feel genuinely heard and understood, without fear of judgment. That's the kind of care I hope to offer you.

You don't need to have all the answers before we meet. You don't even need to know where to start. That's something we can figure out together.

My approach to therapy

I believe the best care starts with getting to know you, not just your symptoms.

Some people come in knowing exactly what they want help with. Others aren't quite sure what's going on, and that's okay too. I'll ask questions, listen, and help you make sense of what you're experiencing without rushing you into a particular treatment.

I provide psychiatric evaluations and medication management, incorporating supportive psychotherapy and practical coping strategies when clinically appropriate. We'll talk through your options together, whether that involves medication, changes to your daily routine, coping skills, or working alongside a therapist.

I also believe there's room for a little humor in mental health care! Some conversations are serious, and others might come with a laugh or two. I'll meet you where you are and adjust my approach to what feels comfortable for you.

At the end of the day, this is your care. I want you to feel comfortable asking questions, expressing concerns, and having a voice in the decisions we make together.

Please note: I don't offer therapy-only appointments. My practice focuses on psychiatric evaluations and medication management, with supportive psychotherapy incorporated when clinically appropriate.

What you can expect from me

Our first appointment is really about getting to know each other.

I'll want to hear what's been going on, what brought you here, and what you're hoping might change. We'll talk through your history and symptoms, but you don't need to have a perfectly rehearsed explanation of everything you've experienced.

I know some things aren't easy to talk about, especially with someone you've just met. We'll approach those conversations with care and respect, and I'll always welcome your questions.

I want our appointments to feel like conversations, not just another stop for a prescription. Whether we're discussing medication, talking through something that's been weighing on you, or celebrating progress you've made, I want you to know that I'm genuinely invested in your well-being.

My hope is that over time, we build the kind of trust where you feel comfortable being yourself and don't feel like you're constantly starting over.

Your experiences are part of your story, but they don't have to define what comes next. And you don't have to navigate that next chapter alone.

I also offer free 15-minute introductory consultations so we can get acquainted and see if we're a good fit.
