Great to meet you!

I enjoy getting to know each person’s unique story, including the challenges they face and the strengths they bring to the counseling process. My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and grounded in authenticity, integrating Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Person-Centered Therapy to support each client’s individual goals and needs.

My professional background in both the criminal justice and education fields has given me experience working with people from diverse walks of life and a deeper understanding of the stressors many individuals face. In addition to my professional experience, my personal experiences have also shaped how I connect with clients. Living with Type 1 diabetes has given me firsthand insight into managing chronic illness, stress, resilience, and the emotional impact of long-term health challenges. I’m also in a long-term marriage with my husband, Jeff, which helps inform my understanding of relationships, communication, commitment, and LGBTQ+ experiences.

I strive to create a supportive, nonjudgmental space where clients feel seen, heard, and empowered to move toward meaningful personal growth.

My approach to therapy

I enjoy getting to know each person’s story, including the challenges they face and the strengths they bring to the process. My approach to therapy is collaborative, supportive, and grounded in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). Together, we explore how thoughts, emotions, and behaviors interact and learn practical strategies to create meaningful change. I strive to provide a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients can better understand themselves, reduce stress and anxiety, strengthen coping skills, and build greater confidence and resilience in their daily lives.

What you can expect from me

When we begin working together, my goal is to create a supportive space where you feel truly heard and understood. In our first session, we’ll explore what brought you to therapy, your current challenges, your personal history, and your goals for counseling. This helps me understand your unique experiences and determine the best path forward. From there, we will work together to set goals and develop a plan that supports your growth and well-being. Whether you are navigating stress, life transitions, health challenges, or relationship concerns, therapy can be a place to gain clarity, strengthen resilience, and take steps toward the life you want to live.
