Great to meet you!

Hi, my name is Keyla. I have over 14 years of experience helping individuals from diverse backgrounds improve their overall well-being.

My professional background includes research, school-based therapy, community mental health, psychiatric social work, and medical social work as a Senior Clinical Social Worker at a Level 1 Trauma Center in one of the busiest hospitals in the nation. These experiences have shaped me into a compassionate, highly effective, and well-rounded therapist. My goal is to help you gain insight, recognize the bigger picture, accept where you are in your journey, and create a vision for the life you want to build. Together, we can work toward improving your overall well-being one day at a time. I use evidence-based practices to guide and support our therapy sessions while taking a holistic and eclectic approach tailored to your unique needs. Depending on your goals, treatment may incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Strengths-Based Therapy, and other approaches designed to help you move toward healing and growth.

I was born and raised in Puerto Rico and moved to California in 2000. Since then, my personal and professional journey has led me to where I am today. Becoming a licensed clinical social worker has been incredibly rewarding because it allows me to consistently support others in living healthier, more fulfilling lives.

My approach to therapy

I bring a holistic and eclectic approach to therapy, meeting you where you are with compassion and understanding. It takes courage to truly engage in the therapeutic process. Facing past and present realities can feel difficult at times, but you do not have to do it alone—I will be there to support you every step of the way. Together, we will connect the dots, work through complex emotions rooted in past and present experiences, develop tools to support your well-being, and help you create a more balanced and fulfilling life.

What you can expect from me

During our first session, we will spend time getting to know one another. I will review confidentiality and its limits, and complete a biopsychosocial assessment to better understand your background, experiences, and current concerns. We will discuss your overall wellness, explore the challenges bringing you to therapy, and identify the goals you would like to work toward throughout the therapeutic process.
