Great to meet you!

Hello! I’m truly glad you’re here, and I want to take a moment to recognize the effort you've made in choosing to seek counseling—it's a significant step towards prioritizing your well-being, and I am proud of you for taking it. My name is Kiara Johnson, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Mississippi and Texas, as well as a National Certified Counselor. I hold a Doctor of Professional Counseling (DPC) from Mississippi College.

With over six years of experience in the counseling profession and one year of experience on Headway, I've dedicated my career to helping individuals navigate through some of life’s most challenging moments. One fun fact about me is I am also a school counselor in Mississippi. My journey in counseling has equipped me with a diverse range of skills, particularly in supporting individuals dealing with anxiety, stress, school issues, relationships, grief, etc. Each of these areas holds a unique set of challenges, and I approach them with empathy and a deep understanding of the human experience.

My approach to therapy

In our sessions, I aim to build a collaborative relationship where we can work together towards your goals. Whether you're grappling with anxiety that feels overwhelming, dealing with the complexities of relationships, or seeking clarity about who you are, I am here to support you every step of the way. I recognize that everyone’s journey is unique, and I am committed to tailoring my approach to meet your individual needs.

What you can expect from me

During the first session, clients can expect an introduction, a discussion of their life history, and current presenting concerns to help with structuring goals for the counseling sessions. Each session after the first session is collaboratively designed to reach counseling goals and help the client navigate challenges faced.
