Great to meet you!

My name is Kiara Taveras and I am a bilingual (Spanish speaking) LICSW that provides individual, couples and family counseling! I graduated from FIU with a BS in criminal justice with a minor in social work and then got my MSW at Simmons University! I have worn many hats throughout my career from a counselor at a group home to managing an in-home counseling program. My many experiences have lead me to start my own practice so that I could provide a safe, compassionate and healing space. My hope is to provide an opportunity to explore your story, gain clarity and build tools needed to thrive! I customized interventions to cater to the needs of the client but am well versed in CBT, trauma informed care, motivational interviewing, strength-based approaches, solution focused therapy, and mindfulness to name a few. Please feel free to reach out for a complimentary 15 minuted consultation to see if I am the right fit for you!

My approach to therapy

I believe in a collaborative approach to therapy which means I view myself as a support to you and whatever your treatment goals are. I like to incorporate humor into sessions when appropriate and consider myself to be a transparent person. I am just another human being just like yourself who has gone through struggles in life. I don't have all the answers but hopefully I can provide a listening ear, insight, a new perspective and resources that can help you get to where you want to be in life.

What you can expect from me

During the first session I would like to take some time to get to know you, what you are seeking to get out of our time together and work together to identify treatment goals. I would like to know what I can do to support you and create a safe space for you to be your most authentic self!
