Great to meet you!

Trauma doesn't end when the experience is over. The ways we learned to cope, protect ourselves, & make sense of what happened can continue to show up in our lives. I specialize in working with adults healing from childhood trauma, sexual abuse/assault, & emotionally or psychologically abusive relationships. My work also addresses patterns that can develop from trauma, including depression, shame, self-blame, people-pleasing, difficulty trusting yourself, low self-worth, difficulty setting boundaries, & relationship challenges. As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, I am passionate about helping clients understand the impact of trauma and work toward meaningful change.

My approach to therapy

My approach is trauma-informed, collaborative, & tailored to your needs. We'll work to understand how trauma has shaped patterns in your thoughts, emotions, relationships, & responses to difficult situations. Our work may include identifying triggers and trauma responses, challenging unhelpful beliefs, strengthening boundaries, developing healthier ways of coping, and developing a stronger sense of self-trust and self-worth. I primarily use trauma-informed Cognitive Behavioral Therapy while integrating other evidence-based approaches to meet your needs. Therapy with me is collaborative & active, with warmth, care & challenge. We'll make space to process your experiences while also identifying patterns, challenging unhelpful beliefs, developing practical skills, & working toward meaningful change in your daily life.

What you can expect from me

Our first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another and begin understanding what brings you to therapy. We'll talk about what you've been experiencing, what you'd like support with, and what you hope to gain from therapy. You will not be expected to share every detail of your trauma before you're ready. We'll move at a pace that allows us to build trust while identifying the areas you'd like to work on together. You're also welcome to ask questions and get a feel for whether working together feels like the right fit.
