Great to meet you!

I am a first-generation Vietnamese-American refugee and daughter of immigrants. I have personally experienced the challenges of healing and living with trauma, and I share many of the same experiences as those who are on this journey. These experiences have shaped my understanding of the impact that trauma and emotional pain can have on our lives. I have been providing mental health care for over 10 years, and I offer my clients genuine, honest, and compassionate care. I am passionate about mental health and prevention and am strongly committed to helping improve the outlook of people’s mental and physical well-being for a healthier future in our respective communities.

My approach to therapy

I provide mental health counseling and support for adults throughout the state of California via secure telehealth. Clients who see me have received support in the following areas: anxiety, grief and loss, life transition stress, breaking generational patterns, and burnout. Mental health care services include culturally sensitive care, individualized therapy tailored to your specific needs and areas of concerns, and support that's genuine and honest. I take an integrative approach that considers both mental and physical health to support my clients’ overall well-being. My experiences include working with clients in community mental health, healthcare inpatient and outpatient settings, and private practice for over ten years. Therapy with me will be a collaborative approach to guide you through life’s challenges, recognize the underlying root causes of unhealthy thought or behavior patterns, and help you create the change you want to achieve in a safe and supportive space. Overtime, clients report having increased emotional awareness, healthier boundaries in relationships, and steadier self-regulation compared to before therapy.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, I will ask a lot of questions about your background and history revolving the reason you are seeking mental health care. In order to fully understand how I can help you, a thorough assessment will guide us to what our work will look like together in future sessions. The first appointment will also help you and I build rapport and to discuss whether we are a good fit as therapist and client. My success with clients throughout my career is built on the therapeutic alliance and it is important that you feel comfortable and safe to come to your weekly sessions and share about yourself. If we are not a good match, I will do my best to give recommendations for follow-up with someone who would be a better fit.
