Great to meet you!

Are you feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure how to move forward? Maybe you’re dealing with anxiety, depression, substance use, trauma, or a situation that feels like it has become too much to handle on your own. I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor with more than 20 years of experience supporting people through some of life’s most challenging moments. My background includes clinical counseling, crisis response, correctional mental health, substance use treatment, and community services. I’ve worked with individuals facing addiction, co-occurring concerns, trauma, suicidal thoughts, major life challenges, and difficult transitions. These experiences have taught me that every person’s story is different, and meaningful therapy starts with understanding yours.

My approach to therapy

My approach is primarily person-centered, which means I want to understand where you are, what matters to you, and what you want to change before deciding where we go next. I also incorporate cognitive behavioral therapy and brief solution-focused therapy to help you recognize patterns, work through challenges, and focus on practical steps toward your goals. I believe therapy should be individualized, realistic, and focused on helping you make meaningful changes.

What you can expect from me

Our first session is about getting to know each other and creating a starting point for your work in therapy. We’ll review informed consent and confidentiality, talk about what brought you to counseling, and begin identifying the concerns you want to address. I’ll listen, ask questions, and help you identify some realistic short-term goals. You don’t need to have everything figured out before we meet. We can start with where you are and take it one step at a time. If you’re ready to begin, choose a time on my calendar that works for you and let’s start the conversation.
