Great to meet you!

Welcome! I’m a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) with more than 20 years of nursing experience and a genuine passion for helping adults improve their mental health and quality of life.

I provide psychiatric care for adults 18 and older, including individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, mood changes, stress, sleep difficulties, life transitions, or feeling overwhelmed by the demands of everyday life. I especially value working with women and adults who may be balancing careers, family responsibilities, relationships, and other life challenges while trying to prioritize their own mental health.

I understand that reaching out for mental health care can feel difficult. My goal is to create a warm, comfortable, and judgment-free environment where you can be open about what you are experiencing and feel genuinely heard.

My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and individualized. I take time to understand you as a whole person—not simply your symptoms or diagnosis. Together, we can identify your goals and develop a treatment plan that fits your needs, preferences, lifestyle, and values.

Whether you are seeking care for the first time or looking for a different approach to managing your mental health, my goal is to help you feel more balanced, confident, and in control of your well-being.

My approach to therapy

I bring compassion, patience, active listening, and more than 20 years of nursing experience to my practice. I believe effective mental health care begins with trust. You should feel comfortable discussing your concerns without feeling judged, rushed, or dismissed. I take time to understand your individual experiences, concerns, strengths, goals, and treatment preferences. I do not believe in a one-size-fits-all approach to mental health care. My sessions are patient-centered, collaborative, and evidence-based. Depending on your needs, treatment may include medication management, therapeutic interventions, psychoeducation, and practical strategies to support your mental health and daily functioning. I want you to leave each session feeling heard, understood, and informed about your treatment and next steps.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is an opportunity to feel heard, understood, and comfortable with your care. We will take time to discuss what brought you to treatment, your current concerns and symptoms, relevant personal and treatment history, and what you would like to accomplish through care. You will have the opportunity to ask questions, share what is most important to you, and talk openly about your goals and preferences. I will work to understand the whole person, not just the symptoms you are experiencing. Together, we will explore factors that may be affecting your mental health and discuss appropriate treatment options. Medication may be considered when appropriate, but it does not necessarily need to be started during the first visit. We will make treatment decisions collaboratively based on your needs, preferences, and clinical circumstances. By the end of your first session, you can expect a better understanding of your concerns, potential treatment options, and recommended next steps. Most importantly, you will leave with a personalized plan for moving forward and the reassurance that you have a provider who is listening, supporting you, and invested in your progress.
