Great to meet you!

Hello, and welcome! My name is Kim Morochnick Herrera, a bilingual Licensed Mental Health Therapist — I offer sessions in English or Spanish, and bring a multicultural lens and many years of personal and professional experiences to my practice. I support clients; adults, pre-teen, teenagers, young adults, mid lifers and elders through challenges like depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, abuse, life transitions, immigration and identity struggles. My approach is holistic: evidence-based methods alongside a whole-person view of wellness. Being empathetic, validating and normalizing client's experiences are key to building trust and useful sessions. My goal is for every client to feel genuinely heard and equipped with new tools, insight, and self confidence to make the changes they want and the quality life they deserve. I feel honored when clients share the most difficult parts and experiences of their lives. I take if very seriously and treat each client with respect and kindness. I have often been told that I am the first person they have ever told their story to.

My approach to therapy

I am an eclectic therapist who doesn't prescribe to one type of methodology. I am person centered and adapt to my clients particular needs. My aim is to have clients feel safe and comfortable by providing space to identify and process feelings rather than just strategize around them — so that things like guilt, anger, and fear can begin to decrease, and resilience, happiness, and real engagement with life can grow. I make suggestions but mostly help clients make the changes they want by being a partner in their journey and providing practical new skills, helping them to identify their emotions and process their feelings.

What you can expect from me

I follow my client's lead and needs with a variety of approaches including Engaged listening, Person-Centered, CBT techniques, Behavioral therapy and Nutrition Integration. My personal and professional experiences and challenges, work with a multitude of ages, genders, stages of life, diagnosis, as well as living and traveling abroad, contribute to my success as a therapist. Feel free to reach out for an intro call.
