Great to meet you!

Recent client feedback: " Working with Kim has been a transformative experience. She doesn’t just offer helpful tools and resources—she provides accountability through thoughtful “homework” that keeps me motivated and on track. Kim isn’t afraid to ask the hard questions, helping me get to the root of issues I’ve struggled with for years. What sets her apart is her honest, direct approach combined with genuine care. She creates a space where growth feels possible, and solutions feel achievable. I’m incredibly grateful for her guidance."

My name is Kim Lane and I am an LICSW. I have provided therapy in community mental health agencies, private practice and have also worked as a crisis clinician for emergency services. I specialize in helping those who struggle with anxiety, depression, OCD, substance abuse and general life transitions that may be causing distress. I am only working with adults at this time.

My approach to therapy

I love to watch my clients grow, move outside of the box they’ve confined themselves to, spread their wings and fly! I will help you determine the areas of your life that you want to work on. I don’t have a cookie cutter approach because you are not a cookie, nor am I a cookie cutter. I draw mostly from techniques such as cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, exposure response prevention, strengths based, solution focused and gentle reprocessing of trauma; I don’t believe in a one size fits all approach. Each one of you is unique and I will treat you that way. I will meet you where you are at and together we will devise a game plan, written in pencil, not sharpie. I look forward to being part of your journey.

What you can expect from me

In our first few sessions we will get to know each other and I will want to know more about your background and history, what your past experiences with therapy may have been like, what brings you to therapy. What are you hoping to achieve? We will identify your strengths and assess your toolbox of already existing mental health skills. From there we will develop a plan together. I understand how difficult it can be to schedule appointments if you’re working a Monday through Friday, 9-5 job; which is why I offer some evening and weekend appointments to truly be able to meet you where you are at.
