Great to meet you!

I’m Kimberly McGarvey, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with over 20 years of experience helping adults navigate anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship challenges, grief, stress, and life transitions. I provide a warm, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where clients can feel heard and understood. My approach is collaborative and tailored to each client’s individual needs and goals. I work with clients to build insight, strengthen coping skills, and create meaningful, lasting change.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is compassionate, collaborative, and grounded in both insight and practical strategies. I draw from Psychodynamic Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness-Based practices, and Strength-Based approaches to help clients better understand patterns contributing to emotional distress. I support clients in developing healthier coping skills, improving self-awareness, and navigating difficult life experiences with greater resilience. Therapy is individualized to support each client’s unique goals and experiences.

What you can expect from me

Clients can expect a supportive and conversational first session focused on understanding what brings them to therapy and what they hope to gain from the process. I will ask questions about current concerns, stressors, relationships, and personal history to better understand their experiences and needs. There is no pressure to share everything at once, and therapy moves at a pace that feels comfortable and manageable. My goal is to help clients feel heard, supported, and understood from the start.
