Great to meet you!

Hello, I am Kim, the owner of Starfish Family Counseling, PLLC, and my mission is best described through a story. The Starfish Story tells of a child walking along a beach after a terrible storm which washed up thousands of starfish onto the beach. The child is throwing starfish back into the water, when someone admonishes the child that they cannot save them all, cannot really make a difference. The child responds by picking up another starfish and saying "it makes a difference to this one."

A bit about my approach to therapy

I worked exclusively with individuals struggling with eating disorders for 7 years. I am a Certified Child-Centered Play Therapist and Certified Child and Adolescent Trauma Professional. I enjoy utilizing creative and expressive arts techniques for clients of all ages. I am knowledgeable in DBT and provide education on its skills. Additionally I have a special interest in women's issues, I am an ally, and I strive to create a safe, sex positive space to discuss your concerns without judgement.
