Great to meet you!

Kimberley Boyd, PMHNP-BC, is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with over ten years of nursing experience and a deep commitment to compassionate, evidence-based psychiatric care. She has spent nearly eight years working in acute psychiatric settings, supporting individuals experiencing complex mental health conditions, substance use challenges, and psychiatric crises. Her additional background in oncology nursing further shaped her holistic, patient-centered perspective, allowing her to care for both emotional and physical aspects of health.

Kimberley has extensive experience working with diverse populations, including veterans, active-duty military members, and individuals facing significant life stressors or transitions. She is fluent in both English and Korean and is especially passionate about improving access to high-quality mental health care for underserved and multicultural communities. Patients often describe Kimberley as warm, attentive, and deeply invested in helping them feel heard, respected, and supported.

My approach to therapy

Kimberley’s approach to care is collaborative, respectful, and rooted in treating the whole person—mind, body, and spirit. She believes that effective psychiatric care begins with understanding each individual’s values, lived experiences, and goals. Treatment plans are developed together, using evidence-based practices while remaining flexible and responsive to each client’s unique needs.

She practices with cultural humility and prioritizes building trust and safety in the therapeutic relationship. For clients who desire it, Kimberley thoughtfully incorporates faith-sensitive care, always guided by the client’s preferences and beliefs. Her goal is to empower clients with education, insight, and practical tools while providing thoughtful medication management to support long-term stability and well-being.

What you can expect from me

During the first session, clients can expect a thorough and supportive psychiatric evaluation in a calm, non-judgmental environment. Kimberley takes time to understand your current concerns, mental health history, medical background, and life circumstances. She values listening carefully and ensuring you feel comfortable asking questions and sharing what matters most to you.

Together, you will begin developing a personalized treatment plan that may include medication management, education about your symptoms and options, and clear next steps for care. Clients often leave the first session feeling heard, informed, and reassured that they have a collaborative partner in their mental health journey.
