Great to meet you!

arted Kimberley Richardson Therapy because I believe everyone deserves a space where their full identity is welcomed — not accommodated, not tolerated, but genuinely centered.

I'm an LGBTQIA+-affirming therapist with a particular focus on cultural and ethnic identity, trauma, and the relational patterns that shape how we show up in our lives and relationships. As a Black female therapist in the Boston area, I bring both lived experience and clinical depth to that work — and I take seriously the ways that race, culture, and identity intersect with mental health.

I'm an LICSW with 10 active clients, trained at Boston University and UMass Boston. I'm accepting new clients and begin with an intro call to make sure we're a good fit.

My approach to therapy

My approach centers on the relationship between us as the foundation for everything else. I draw on Emotion-Focused Therapy to work with the deeper emotional patterns driving anxiety, relational struggles, and trauma responses. Narrative Therapy helps you examine and rewrite the stories you've been telling about yourself and your identity. Trauma-Focused CBT addresses specific trauma responses that still affect daily life.

ACT builds the psychological flexibility to move toward what matters to you, even when difficult thoughts and feelings are present. An Attachment-Based lens informs how I understand relational patterns and where they come from.

My style is direct and warm — I'll challenge you when it's useful, and I'll always work at a pace that feels right for you.

What you can expect from me

We start with an intro call — a brief, low-pressure chance to connect and make sure this feels like the right fit before we commit to anything.

In the first full session, I'll ask what's brought you here, what you've been navigating, and what you're hoping feels different. We'll start mapping your goals and get a sense of how we'll work together.

Most people leave the first session feeling genuinely heard — and with a clearer sense of what the work will actually look like.
