Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Kimberly Abuajah, MSN, APRN, PMHNP-BC — a board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner and the founder of Peaceful Pond Psychiatry.

Peaceful Pond Psychiatry was built on the belief that mental health care should be intentional, compassionate, and personalized.

I hold a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (Magna Cum Laude) and a Master of Science in Nursing specializing in psychiatry. My clinical background includes years in the emergency department, as well as experience in emergency psychiatry, crisis stabilization, and outpatient behavioral health. I’ve had the privilege of supporting individuals of all ages navigating anxiety, trauma, emotional overwhelm, and major life transitions.

Over the years, I have developed a treatment approach that integrates functional psychiatry, lifestyle changes, medicine, and — when requested — Christian counseling. I believe mental wellness is shaped not only by medication but also by nutrition, sleep, movement, mindset, and connection. My approach is both challenging and compassionate — I’ll encourage your growth while meeting you with empathy, understanding, and clinical expertise.

I don’t prescribe controlled substances, not because they don’t have value, but because I’ve chosen to focus on deep, intentional healing. I help people build new neural pathways, reconnect with themselves, and learn how to feel whole again — not just function.

If you’re looking for care that sees all of you — your symptoms, your story, your strength — you’re in the right place.

My approach to therapy

My approach to care is intentional, collaborative, and rooted in treating the whole person. I believe psychiatric care should go beyond managing symptoms and instead create space for lasting healing and growth. During our time together, I take the time to understand your unique story through a comprehensive evaluation and ongoing dialogue.

Medication management is a central part of my role, but I view it as only one piece of the larger picture. I help clients explore how lifestyle, stress, sleep, nutrition, and emotional patterns influence their mental health, so that treatment feels personalized and sustainable. Each client receives a curated wellness packet, and every session is designed to feel supportive, empowering, and tailored to your goals.

For those who desire it, I also offer Christian counseling, integrating faith into mental health care in a way that honors the whole person—mind, body, and spirit. Above all, my goal is to provide thoughtful care that helps you feel understood, supported, and equipped to move forward with clarity, resilience, and hope.

What you can expect from me

In our sessions, you can expect an atmosphere of calm, authenticity, and mutual respect. I aim to create a space where you don’t feel like you have to filter yourself — where you can unpack your thoughts, process emotions, and gain practical insight without pressure or pretense.

Clients often leave feeling more grounded, with a clearer understanding of what’s going on beneath the surface. Together, we’ll work toward building emotional resilience, strengthening coping skills, and identifying patterns that may be holding you back. I’ll guide you in reconnecting with your strengths and learning new ways to support your mind, body, and spirit.
