Great to meet you!

My true first passion has been in the arts. While my education in the fine arts led to a BFA, it wasn't enough to pay the bills and I became a substitute teacher in an inner-city middle school. My work in the Department of Youth Services provided in-depth training with DBT therapy. Given my love for the arts, it is only natural that I also became a certified art therapy coach. I eventually rounded out my practice working as a hospital social worker at a medical trauma center in Massachusetts.

My approach to therapy

I will meet you where you are. If you are ready to hit the ground running, that is where we will start. If you need to feel around to see if you are ready for therapy, we will begin there. After almost 17 years in the field, there is little I have not seen and you should not feel uncomfortable to put it all out there so true healing can begin. I enjoy working with all types of people, and people with a sense of humor tend to notice that I have one myself.

What you can expect from me

Work with me is tailored to get you up and running with an improved life; we'll taper off sessions to allow your trial of new skills. We're done when you feel confident to go a while without therapy with the option to check back in if you need to refresh skills. Most people finish their first session saying, "That went better than I thought it would!" Trust in knowing I want you to be comfortable and will work in ways that allow you to feel free enough to get what you want out of therapy.
