Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Kim! I’m a licensed psychologist, and I currently meet with clients online in Washington. For more than 20 years, I’ve had the privilege of supporting kids, teens, adults, couples, and families in both community and military settings. Outside of work, I love traveling and have explored many parts of the world. Traveling opened me up to new cultures and gave me confidence to step into the unknown, which is also how I approach therapy.

My approach to therapy

My practice is called Carpe Diem Counseling, PLLC because I believe there isn’t a “right” time to begin therapy - only the moment you’re ready to seize the day and take that first step. My style is collaborative and strength-based, meaning we’ll build on what’s already working while addressing what feels stuck or needs to shift. I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), motivational interviewing, psychodynamic therapy, and interpersonal approaches. Together, we’ll set clear goals, check in on progress, and use therapy as a space to create meaningful change - whether that’s in thoughts, feelings, behaviors, or simply gaining new perspective. Clients often describe me as warm, empathetic, easy to talk to, and non-judgmental.

What you can expect from me

Much like traveling to new places, therapy can be an opportunity to see life with fresh eyes and discover what’s possible. My hope is that our work together feels meaningful, empowering, and worth the effort you put into it. If you’re ready to carpe diem - to seize the day and invest in yourself - I’d be honored to walk alongside you.
