Great to meet you!

I am a clinical social worker with twenty years of experience in community mental health, including direct client care, program development, clinical supervision, and organizational leadership. My career has included roles as a school-based case manager, team leader, therapist, branch director, and regional branch director, providing me with a broad understanding of client needs and service delivery.

Throughout my career, I have developed programs, supported multidisciplinary teams, and built partnerships with schools, law enforcement, child welfare agencies, and community organizations. I founded the Child Advocacy Team in 2006 and remain committed to improving access to coordinated, trauma-informed services.

My clinical training includes EMDR, cognitive behavioral therapy, trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy, and motivational interviewing. I bring an understanding of first-responder culture and experience with crisis support and critical incident stress management. My approach emphasizes cultural responsiveness, collaboration, and practical strategies that help individuals build resilience and make meaningful changes.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is grounded in compassion, collaboration, and respect for each person’s experiences. I work to create a supportive space where clients feel heard and can explore how past experiences influence their current thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and relationships.

I draw from evidence-based approaches, including EMDR, cognitive behavioral therapy, trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy, and motivational interviewing. I tailor treatment to each client’s needs, strengths, culture, and goals. Together, we work to build insight, strengthen coping skills, and develop practical strategies for meaningful change.

What you can expect from me

My approach to therapy begins with getting to know you as a person. During our first visit, I explore what brought you to therapy, what you hope to achieve, and your strengths, challenges, interests, and hobbies. Understanding these aspects of your life helps me tailor treatment to your needs.

Once I understand your reasons for seeking support, we discuss treatment options, including therapeutic approaches and how often we might meet. Together, we develop a plan that reflects your goals, preferences, and circumstances.
