As a child, I wrestled with constant and often unreasonable worry, sometimes feeling mentally beaten down by hours of catastrophizing. During those moments, my mother would remind me, "You are stronger than you think." Over the past 20 years of my practice as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, that same mantra has anchored my work with teens, adults, couples, and families. Before I was a therapist and researcher with a PhD, I was a person, a friend, a sister, and a daughter who learned that strength is not about avoiding help, but embracing our humanness without apology. When we are in the midst of crisis, self-defeating thoughts can pull us into despair, seducing us into seclusion. Instead, I consider it a profound privilege to help you build a secure, empowering baseline for care where we use your struggles as a catalyst for deeper connection. I specialize in trauma and PTSD, relationship issues, racial identity, and supporting individuals navigating eating disorders, co-parenting, or family transitions, always striving to help you reclaim your inherent strength.

My approach to therapy

My therapeutic approach intentionally avoids the idea that there is a single "right" way to look at things, and I will often challenge my clients to do the same when they feel stuck. I believe that balancing evidence-based practices with a deeply authentic, human connection is the truest path to genuine emotional growth. Drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Structural Family Systems, I tailor my approach to honor your unique story. Whether we are utilizing Narrative Therapy, Feminist perspectives, or Trauma-Focused interventions, my goal is to help you recognize that your struggles are not unique, and that relationships during those times can make all the difference. Together, we will outline tangible goals to ensure our work translates into meaningful progress, empowering you to become an active agent of change in your own life and quieting your mind enough to ride the roller coaster of human existence rather than fighting it.

Reaching out for support takes immense courage, and my hope is that our initial time together acts as a quiet refuge where you can step away from the heavy demands of daily life. Because I currently offer exclusively online and in-home therapy, I strive to cultivate a calm, non-judgmental environment directly within a space that feels safe and convenient for you. During our first session, we will gently explore your history, symptoms, and client-centered goals at a natural, comfortable pace without any pressure to have everything figured out at once. I look forward to hearing your unique story, understanding your needs, and collaboratively designing a roadmap that helps you stop surrendering to weakness and start trusting that you will survive and thrive.
