Great to meet you!

Hi! My name is Kimberly. I'm a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), and I'm glad you're here. Taking that first step and asking for help with anxiety, relationship difficulties, or challenging life transitions can be really difficult, but you're headed in the right direction. Keep going...

If you're feeling anxious, overwhelmed, worried, or simply stuck, you're not alone. Maybe you find yourself people-pleasing, struggling to set healthy boundaries, avoiding difficult conversations, or feeling frustrated by the same patterns showing up again and again in your relationships. You may understand that something isn't working but aren't quite sure how to change it.

I help adults struggling with anxiety, relationship difficulties, and challenging life transitions. Sessions often focus on learning to regulate emotions, communicate in healthier ways, set limits and boundaries, manage conflict, and connect more effectively with the people who matter most. We may also explore difficult decisions or childhood experiences that continue to influence how you navigate life and relationships as an adult. These challenges can impact romantic relationships, how you show up in friendships or with family members, and even how you navigate your role as a parent.

With 20 years of experience as a psychotherapist, I use evidence-based therapeutic approaches and a practical, collaborative style to help you better understand yourself, break patterns that are no longer serving you, experience less anxiety, build healthier relationships, and create a more fulfilling life. Together, we'll build your own "toolbox" of skills and strategies to help you make meaningful changes. My goal is to help you move beyond feeling stuck and create a healthier, more confident path forward.

My approach to therapy

I tailor therapy to each client's needs, drawing on evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and EMDR. Rather than using a one-size-fits-all approach, we'll work together to identify what's keeping you stuck and develop practical strategies for creating meaningful change.

My approach is warm, collaborative, and solution-focused. I provide a safe and compassionate space to talk openly while also helping you develop the skills to manage anxiety, regulate emotions, communicate more effectively, set healthier boundaries, and navigate relationship challenges. Together, we'll identify patterns in your thoughts, emotions, and relationships that may be contributing to anxiety or making it difficult to move forward.

Therapy may also involve exploring negative or self-critical thoughts, understanding how past experiences influence your reactions and relationships today, and learning healthier ways to respond to difficult emotions, conflict, and life changes. My goal is not only to help you feel better, but to give you practical tools and greater insight that you can carry into your everyday life and relationships.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, I'll take time to get to know you, understand what brought you to therapy, and learn more about the concerns that are most important to you. We'll talk about what you're currently experiencing, whether that's anxiety, relationship difficulties, a challenging life transition, or simply feeling stuck and unsure of what needs to change.

Together, we'll begin by identifying the patterns, stressors, or relationship dynamics that may be contributing to what you're experiencing, and we'll discuss what you hope to gain from therapy. From there, we'll establish goals and begin developing a personalized plan that feels realistic and meaningful to you. My hope is that you'll leave our first session feeling heard and supported, with a clearer sense of where we can begin and how we'll move forward together.
