Great to meet you!

I’m Kimberly Benson, LCSW, and I’ve worked in the mental health field for over a decade. I’m EMDR-trained and specialize in trauma, both past and current, including abuse and domestic violence. Many of my clients come to me when they feel lost, disconnected, or stuck in patterns that no longer serve them. I work with individuals navigating anxiety, depression, mood disorders, postpartum adjustment, parenting challenges, and major life transitions. My goal is to help you rediscover who you are, rebuild your confidence, and find meaning and fulfillment again in everyday life.

My approach to therapy

My approach is direct, compassionate, and focused on real, lasting change. I don’t shy away from the hard stuff but rather I am ready to sit in it with you. I’ll challenge you to do the deep work while ensuring you always feel safe and supported. I aim to give homework or reflection exercises after every session to help you apply what we discuss in session to your daily life. I work with clients facing trauma, anxiety, depression, social anxiety, lack of motivation, relationship issues (family, friendships, or romantic), postpartum and parenting struggles, and major life transitions like college, divorce, or rediscovering yourself after change. Therapy with me is about growth, accountability, and helping you become the most fulfilled, authentic version of yourself. I am not afraid of the hard moments or the hard conversations and I am ready to do them with you.

What you can expect from me

In the first few sessions, my focus is simply getting to know you, your story, your life, and how you see the world through your own eyes. Once we’ve built that foundation, we’ll start the deeper work together. You can expect honesty, curiosity, and a safe, judgment-free space where uncomfortable conversations lead to real progress. My goal is to help you feel both supported and challenged as you work toward healing, clarity, and the confidence to create a life that feels truly your own.
