Great to meet you!

I’m a down-to-earth, warm, compassionate, easygoing, and approachable therapist who believes healing happens best when people feel seen, heard, and understood.

I take my work seriously, however, I also believe there’s room for authenticity, humor, and genuine human connection in the therapeutic process.

Like many people, I’ve experienced challenges and adversity throughout my own life. Those experiences have strengthened my empathy and reinforced my passion for helping others feel less alone in what they’re going through.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is rooted in Person-Centered Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT).

I believe YOU are the expert on your own life... my role is to simply help you better understand yourself, identify patterns, and move toward the changes you want to make.

I often describe therapy with me as a road trip:

You’re in the driver’s seat because you’re the one living your life and making the decisions.

I’m in the passenger seat helping you navigate (i.e. pointing out roadblocks, identifying detours, helping you make sense of where you’ve been, where you are now, and where you’d like to go, etc.)

Together, we’ll explore how your thoughts, emotions, experiences, and behaviors influence one another. We’ll work to build insight, develop healthier coping strategies, and create meaningful change that aligns with your goals and values.

Most importantly, I strive to create a space where you feel safe, respected, challenged when appropriate, and supported throughout the process.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is all about getting to know you and beginning to build a foundation of trust and safety. Many clients are nervous about starting therapy, so my goal is to create an environment that feels comfortable and judgment-free.

You can expect our conversation to feel natural while I ask questions to better understand your background, current concerns, strengths, and goals for therapy. We may discuss important life experiences, relationships, stressors, and what has brought you to counseling at this point in your life.

By the end of the session, we’ll have a clearer understanding of what you’re hoping to accomplish in therapy and begin discussing a plan for moving forward.

My goal is to create a space where you can show up as your full self, judgement-free and find meaning in life's challenges.
