Great to meet you!

I’m Kimberly Heath, DNP, PMHNP-BC, a board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner providing telehealth psychiatric care for adults in California.

I’ve been a nurse for more than a decade, including six years as a U.S. Navy nurse caring for mothers and newborns. That experience shaped how I approach care: by paying attention to the whole person, not just the symptoms that bring someone in.

I work with adults experiencing anxiety, depression, PTSD, ADHD, and postpartum mental health concerns. My practice includes medication management, with an emphasis on understanding your history, listening to your concerns, and helping you find a path forward that fits your life.

I believe everyone deserves to feel heard, understand their options, and have a meaningful role in decisions about their care.

My approach to therapy

My approach begins with listening and understanding your whole picture. We’ll talk about what you’re experiencing, what you’ve already tried, what has helped, and what matters most to you.

Rather than rushing toward a solution, I take time to understand your needs and explore the options with you. Together, we’ll build a treatment plan that feels realistic for your daily life and that you can follow. If medication is part of your care, we’ll discuss its potential benefits, side effects, and what to watch for in clear, straightforward language.

Your questions and concerns are always welcome. Treatment is a collaborative process, and you should feel comfortable sharing when something is working, when it isn’t, or when you’re uncertain.

I believe ongoing care should be a relationship, not simply a series of appointments. By working together over time, we can recognize changes, learn from your progress, and adjust your plan as your needs evolve.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is 60 minutes, giving us time to have a thoughtful, unhurried conversation. We’ll discuss what brings you to care, your mental health history, your current concerns, and what you’ve tried so far, including what has and hasn’t helped.

We’ll look at the whole picture together and explore treatment options based on your needs, preferences, and goals. If medication management is appropriate, we’ll talk through the potential benefits, side effects, and considerations so you can make informed decisions about your care.

Before we finish, we’ll work toward a clear plan for what comes next and why. You’ll have space to ask questions and share any concerns.

You’ll see me at every visit, so we can build on our conversations rather than start over each time. Follow-up sessions give us an opportunity to review your progress, discuss what has changed, and adjust your plan together as needed.
