Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Kimberly Maughon — a Licensed Professional Counselor with a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I’m passionate about helping individuals heal from trauma, rebuild self-worth, and create healthier relationships. My work focuses on trauma recovery, anxiety, depression, and the complex dynamics of domestic violence and relationship challenges.

With years of experience supporting survivors through Project ReNeWal and providing therapy at Creative Touch Counseling Center, I offer a trauma-informed and strengths-based approach that meets clients where they are. My goal is to create a safe, supportive space where you can explore your story, gain insight, and move toward emotional healing and empowerment.

Outside the counseling room, I’m a wife, mom of three adult children, proud grandmother, and dog lover who believes in lifelong growth, authenticity, and the power of connection.

My approach to therapy

My approach is person-centered and client-led, meaning I believe you are the expert on your own life. I provide a safe, compassionate space where you can explore your experiences at your own pace. I draw from trauma-informed, strengths-based, and evidence-based practices—such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)—to help you gain insight, build coping skills, and create meaningful change.

Together, we’ll work collaboratively to identify your goals, uncover patterns, and empower you to move toward healing and growth in a way that feels authentic and manageable for you.

What you can expect from me

In your first session, we’ll get to know each other and talk about what brings you to counseling. You’ll have a chance to share your story, ask questions, and start setting goals for your growth. We’ll also go over confidentiality and how sessions work, so you know what to expect. Most importantly, this is a safe space where you can be yourself and take the first step toward positive change.
