Great to meet you!

I earned my Doctorate in Counselor Education from Sam Houston State University in 2015, following a Master’s Degree in Counseling from the University of Houston in 2003. My clinical specialty is working with young adults, adolescents, and families, with over five years of direct clinical experience.

In addition to my clinical work, I bring more than a decade of experience as a counselor educator at the university level. I also have over 20 years of experience in public education, including 13 years as a certified secondary school counselor. This diverse background allows me to support clients with a deep understanding of both academic and developmental challenges across the lifespan.

Together, we’ll navigate the highs and lows in a space that’s safe, supportive, and free of judgment. I believe healing and growth happen when you feel truly heard and understood. Just as pearls are shaped through pressure, our own resilience and beauty often emerge from life’s most difficult moments and I’m honored to walk beside you on that transformative journey.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is grounded in person-centered theory, where warmth, empathy, and authenticity guide the therapeutic process. I believe that each person holds the capacity for growth and healing when provided with a safe, supportive environment. Drawing from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), I help clients build awareness, clarify their values, and take meaningful steps toward a more fulfilling life, learning to accept what cannot be changed while committing to actions that reflect who they truly want to be.

What you can expect from me

During your first session at Precious Pearls Counseling, you can expect a warm, welcoming environment designed to help you feel at ease. I will take time to talk about what brings you to counseling, explore your hopes and goals, and begin identifying the areas you’d like to see growth. Together, we’ll develop a plan that supports your unique needs while creating space for understanding, healing, and meaningful change at a pace that feels right for you.
