Great to meet you!

Kimberly Spencer has 20 years of professional experience. She has helped clients with stress, anxiety, grief, anger management, depression, motivation, self-esteem, and confidence. She was the lead therapist at the Department of Veterans Affairs Speciality Mental Health Clinic and worked as a suicide prevention coordinator and DBT program manager for children and adolescents.

My approach to therapy

I struggled with anxiety, depression as a child and adolescent and then as a young adult, I was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Disease and spent six months in intensive hospital-based cancer. From this journey, I learned invaluable skills to help me enjoy a life of peace and tranquility despite great suffering. I have helped children from age four to mature adults age 99, learn ways to cultivate confidence, self-esteem, and meaning in their lives. In addition, my extensive work with persons who have experienced significant trauma, i.e. child abuse, domestic violence, combat, etc. give me a unique perspective to help navigate the challenging symptoms resulting from PTSD.

What you can expect from me

From our initial conversation, you will feel protected, safe, and validated for your life experiences. Depending on your goals, we create a measurable treatment plan where you can feel confident you are moving in a direction that will bring you more acceptance, peace, and tranquility.
