Kimberly Townsend

Thank you for visiting my profile! My name is Kimberly Townsend, LMHC and I provide general mental health telehealth therapy services for pre-teens, teens and adults via individual and/or family sessions. I have ten years of experience working with clients and patients in various clinical capacities (schools, in-home, inpatient, outpatient, corrections/prison, private practice). Clients are often looking for support navigating something that has left them feeling alone, surprised or unbalanced. You will find me to be a warm, supportive, welcoming, competent and skilled therapist. I will cheer you on and challenge you. All are welcome, just as you are.

I see myself as a gentle listener, skilled communicator, reflector, guide and support. My job is to work in partnership with clients to build trust, safety and mutual respect in order to do the work of therapy. This often entails some form of gentle, respectful self-excavation and exploration to clearly identify both challenges and potential solutions.

The first session is to evaluate clinical needs and suitability for services. It's an opportunity for me to gain information about what brings you and/or your family to therapy. We will also work together to establish realistic therapy goals. We will review patient and provider expectations as well as any required documentation. You are most welcome to bring any questions or concerns you have to the first session!
