Great to meet you!

Hi, my name is Kimbly Kellam and I use a solution focused and cognitive behavioral approach because I like to assist with problem resolution. I like to use the word individual instead of client to reduce stigma. I am open and honest and I use interactive and visual aid methods to engage individuals in treatment. I like to discuss strengths and weaknesses and build on the strengths and work on the weaknesses. I use positive reinforcement and focus more on positive behavior while also working on identifying negative behavior. I am realistic about everyday is not going to be a good day, and every moment will not be a good moment but there is the ability to find hope in the next moment and the next day.

My approach to therapy

I use an open and honest approach because I believe in building a rapport with the individual. I also like to use a person centered approach and work on goal oriented treatment.

What you can expect from me

Individuals can expect to have my undivided attention. They can expect to feel respected and heard. I am also open to hearing from individuals about how their treatment is going for them and welcome feedback. They can expect to learn ways to communicate effectively, challenging negative thoughts and learning positive coping skills. They can also expect that I will learn from them.
