Great to meet you!

I'm KimMarie Kearns-Vinal, a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker with over a decade focused on trauma in high-functioning adults — the accomplished, capable people who look fine and aren't.

Most of the people I work with are professionals, clinicians, educators, and caregivers who carry real responsibility well while privately managing anxiety, overwhelm, or reactions that don't match the moment. Many have done therapy before and still find themselves responding from the same old place under pressure.

That gap — knowing what to do and not being able to reach it when you're activated — is where my work begins.

My approach to therapy

My work happens at the level of the nervous system, not just the symptoms, so change happens at the root. I integrate EMDR, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and attachment-informed therapy in a structured, collaborative way.

We build regulation and internal stability before we approach anything deeper — especially if you've felt overwhelmed, misunderstood, or "too much" in previous therapy. Slowing down isn't a setback here. It's how the work stays safe and holds.

Sessions are paced to what your nervous system can carry, and we track how things are actually going rather than assume progress. If something isn't working, we say so and adjust.

What you can expect from me

I'm a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker with over a decade focused on trauma in high-functioning adults. I'm EMDRIA-certified, trained through Level 2 in Internal Family Systems, and somatically informed. I work with adults.

Reaching out can be the hardest part, especially when you're used to being the strong one. You don't need the right words to begin.
