Great to meet you!

I am licensed in New York and New Jersey with over three years of professional work experience. I have experience in helping clients with stress and anxiety, motivation, self esteem, and confidence, career difficulties, & depression. I believe that you are the expert of your story and that you have many strengths that will assist you in overcoming things that challenge you. Taking the first step to sign up for therapy can take courage and I am proud of you for getting started!

My approach to therapy

You know your life better than I do. I think of therapy as a journey. You are the driver and I am in the passenger's seat holding a map (if there are people who still use maps...thanks to GPS). Anyway, I provide a safe and supportive space as we work on what's holding you back or has prevented you from thriving. I think I'm an excellent listener and rely on warmth, empathy, support and humor, when it is appropriate. I also use different modalities and techniques in my practice. I look forward to you making progress.

What you can expect from me

In the first session, I try to understand what brought you to therapy. I want to get a sense of who you are, what has worked, what hasn't and the impact that problems have had in your life. I also discuss "housekeeping" rules for therapy so we are both on the same page. I will tell you what my expectations are from therapy and ask you what your expectations are too. Before we begin, I may ask you to fill out an intake form to better understand you. I understand that you don't know me and for this therapeutic relationship to work, I have to earn your trust.
