Great to meet you!

I am licensed in Wisconsin with 25 years of professional work experience. I spent the first half of my career engaged in direct practice, providing psychotherapy services to individuals, couples and families. I moved into leadership roles midway through my career with an interest in having a larger impact on organizations and communities, and oversaw Behavioral Health services in a variety of settings so have extensive experience with the full continuum of care. I have recently returned to direct practice with the intent to share my knowledge and expertise with individuals, couples and families struggling with mental health, substance use, relationship and other life issues.

I have experience in helping clients with stress and anxiety, coping with addictions, motivation, self esteem and confidence, personality disorders, mood disorders and depression. I've worked with youth and adults across the lifespan, and couples experiencing marital or relationship challenges.

My approach to therapy

I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. I take a client-centered approach, and will help you form a therapy plan to meet your unique and specific needs, focusing on the things you choose to work on and at your pace. I am a proponent of brief, episodic therapy, meaning we work together for the time it takes to address the challenges you identified. Once we accomplish this together you can end the episode of therapy, but are always welcome to return in the future should similar or other challenges arise in your life.

Taking the first step to seeking a more fulfilling and happier life takes courage. I am here to support you in that process. Looking forward to working with you!

What you can expect from me

During our sessions together I'll begin with gathering information from you about the specific challenges you want to address in therapy, and may gather other information as needed to give me a more complete picture of you and your social support network, life stressors, etc. From there I can help you identify specific goals for therapy, and I'll recommend strategies to help you achieve your goals. I also like to provide my clients with measurable outcomes, and as available these can be measured through worksheets that quantify things like anxiety and depression symptoms, quality of life, etc. In addition I may provide some brief homework related to strategies to address your specific challenges.
