Great to meet you!

Hi and thanks for stopping to read over my profile. I have been in the field of counseling for over ten years, and previously, have a background in literature and creative writing. I moved from San Francisco to Nashville in 2019, where I live with my husband and two boys. I work with both adult men and women, helping them recover from a variety of issues, including over-reactivity or numbness, low motivation, chronic pain, low self-worth, substance use, anxiety, and relationship conflict or disconnect.

A bit about my approach to therapy

I am certified in three models, including EMDR, Healing Our Cores Issues and Pain Reprocessing Therapy. All of these models look at earlier adaptations and coping strategies that may have developed a long time ago, but are no longer serving us in the present. While we may delve into the past, all of these models are present-focused, helping clients address current symptoms or issues that have felt stuck or impossible to move past. These models have an experiential component, a little different from just "talk therapy" (although that will certainly be incorporated), which accesses the root of issues and contributes to lasting change.

What you can expect from our first session

Change can happen quickly or it takes time, so it can be a little unpredictable about how long therapy might take. When clients start to move on from therapy, as I've seen many times, they are feeling more ease, a greater sense of connection to their authentic self, and a reduction in symptoms.
