Great to meet you!

If you're carrying trauma, living with ADHD, autism, anxiety, or OCD, or just need someone to help you stay accountable, I could be your person. I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Missouri, and I recently started a PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision. I have lived experience with many things, so I understand trauma, and I'm open about my own mental health to help end the stigma around talking about it. In my wheelhouse is working with individuals, families, and children ages 6 and up. A little about me: yes, my name is really Kitten. I'm a mom to a daughter on the autism spectrum and to three dachshunds with larger-than-life personalities.

My approach to therapy

I approach others how I want to be approached, with unconditional positive regard and respect. I believe in transparency and authenticity, so when appropriate, I share my own experiences and look for ethical ways to connect during sessions. I like to take things you already do every day and find ways to optimize them. For example, if brushing your teeth is a struggle but you shower every day, keep a toothbrush and toothpaste in the shower.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, we'll talk about what brought you here and what you'd like to work on, even if your goals feel broad or vague right now. I'm stubborn, so I'm not deterred if the first few sessions feel a little awkward while we get to know each other. I will sit with you in your darkness and offer you the light when you are ready to hold it. If I sound like I might be a good fit, reach out, and I'll give it my best shot.e
