Komekia Peterson, LMHC, CASAC-M, NCC, ACS, is a licensed mental health counselor, clinical supervisor, and doctoral candidate in Counselor Education at the University of Rochester with over a decade of experience providing trauma-informed, wellness-focused care to individuals with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders. She has served in both leadership and direct service roles, including as Program Director within the Behavioral Health Department and as a psychotherapist treating clients with co-occurring disorders. Komekia is also a nationally certified health and wellness coach, mindfulness instructor, and Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) practitioner, combining evidence-based and holistic strategies to support healing and sustainable growth. She currently teaches and supervises counselors-in-training in CASAC and CACREP-accredited programs, maintaining a strong commitment to equitable, person-centered care in both academic and clinical settings.
