Great to meet you!

Sparrow Guidance and Therapy helps individuals and families handle anxiety, self-esteem challenges, and communication struggles by providing personalized, compassionate counseling using evidence-based approaches including CBT, Solution-Focused therapy and Person-Centered care.

With over 20 years dedicated to helping people grow and thrive, I've built my career on a simple belief: every person's story matters, and everyone deserves support on their journey toward healing.

My journey began at the University of Kentucky where I earned my Bachelor's degree in Psychology, followed by a Master of Arts in Teaching from the University of Louisville, and culminated with a Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Liberty University. As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, I bring together decades of experience in education and clinical practice to honor your unique story while providing comprehensive, compassionate support.

What started as a passion for teaching evolved into a deeper calling—helping individuals and families not just learn, but heal, grow, and reconnect with themselves and each other. Those years in education taught me that every story is different, every challenge is valid, and real transformation happens when people feel truly heard and understood.

Now, through Sparrow Guidance and Therapy, I combine that educator's heart with clinical expertise to provide warm, evidence-based care for children, teens, young adults, and families navigating life's challenges.

Whether you're struggling with anxiety that won't quiet down, self-doubt that holds you back, or communication that feels impossible, I genuinely understand—and I'm here to help. You deserve to feel heard, supported, and hopeful about your future.

Your story matters, and so does your healing. Let's start today.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is warm, collaborative, and rooted in what actually works. I believe therapy should feel like a partnership—a safe space where you're truly heard and where we work together at your pace. I draw from evidence-based modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, and Person-Centered care to create a personalized experience tailored to your unique needs.

Here's what that means in practice:

  • CBT helps us identify and gently challenge the thoughts and patterns keeping you stuck, giving you practical tools to use
  • Solution-Focused Therapy highlights your existing strengths and what's already working in your life, so we can build on those successes
  • Person-Centered care ensures you feel genuinely understood and accepted—because you're not broken, and this is a judgment-free space

I don't believe in one-size-fits-all therapy. Instead, I meet you where you are and create strategies that fit your life, your story, and your goals. My focus is always on helping you feel empowered, capable, and hopeful about your future.

What you can expect from me

Walking into therapy for the first time can feel intimidating, so let me take some of that uncertainty away. Our first session is all about you—your story, where you've been, and where you want to go.

We'll start by exploring the chapter you're in right now. I'll ask about what brought you in, what your daily life looks like, and what you're hoping will be different. But more importantly, I'll listen. I want to understand not just what's happening in your story, but how it feels to be living it. There's no pressure to have all the answers or to "perform"—this is your space to be honest and real.

Together, we'll explore:

  • The challenges you're facing
  • What you've already tried and what's felt helpful or unhelpful
  • What you want your next chapters to look like

By the end of our first session, you'll have a clear sense of how I work, and we'll begin co-authoring a path forward that feels manageable and hopeful. You'll leave knowing that you have a partner in this process—someone who genuinely understands your story and is committed to helping you write the chapters ahead with more confidence, peace, and possibility.
