Great to meet you!

Thanks for visiting! I have been licensed for 9 years and have a combined 21 years of experience as a counselor, mental health therapist, and behaviorist. My specialty is working with LGBT+ adults and couples. Issues I have worked with in the past include same-sex couples' dynamics, self-acceptance, the coming-out process, and gender transition. I am also skilled with a variety of presenting problems, ranging from trauma (sexual, physical, and emotional), substance abuse, anxiety, and depression.

My approach to therapy

Typically, I work with clients to find what type of therapy works best and adapt to their needs. In the past, I have had great success with standard methods such as DBT (dialectical behavior therapy), CBT (cognitive behavior therapy), Behaviorism, and others. Don't know what any of those terms mean? Not a problem! With my guidance, we'll be able to figure out what process works best for you together.

What you can expect from me

My style is very conversational, sometimes to the point that it feels like we're just hanging out. Trust me, we're doing the work, I'm just making it more relatable. For example, as a geek, I draw on my passions to help patients reframe ideas. This can mean using references from video games, Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, Anime, Harry Potter, and music to help clients better understand and reframe presenting problems. This has been very successful for couples and adults alike, making experiences more positive.
